The Herds | |
Small herds and bachelor groups (any gathering of deer that exceeds four members) can be created at any time you wish without strict regulations, however, they will not be recognized as official unless they meet the following guidelines:
If a small herd/bachelor group has possession of an official herd's subforum and they reach official herd status, they must challenge the official herd for the rights to the entire board. Should they lose, they also lose possession of that board and need to find another place to reside. The Herds
None currently! Why not be the first? Standard Herd Hierarchy
Lead doe: The lead doe is responsible for every head that calls her herd home. She is to manage and maintain her herd, protecting them with her life if need be. It is under her declaration as to whether or not outsiders are welcome into their domain; it is her command that sees the lookouts trained. Regent: The regent follows closely in the shadow of the lead doe, learning and watching with an observant eye what it takes to guide the herd in the event of the lead doe's demise. She serves in the lead's place when she is unable to fulfil her duties. Regents are still expected to fulfil their lookout duties. Soothsayer: Soothsayer's are the life of the herd. It is through her that injury and sickness will not spread nor does it lead to fatal consequence beneath her experienced guidance. She is considered a divine entity and is not permitted to sully her spirit with physical pleasures. Apprentice: As the regent follows the lead so too does the apprentice watch with a studious gaze that workings of her Soothsayer mentor. It is her duty to learn all that she can of medicinal remedies for when it is her time to mend the herd's wounds and spirits. Warlord: Warlords have proven their mettle in battle and reign over the other bucks that wish to breed with the herd's females. They have won the right to claim the herd as his during the rut. Lookout: Those members of the herd who have not gained a higher position are given the role of a lookout. Lookout's are responsible for patrolling the borders and gathering fruits, vegetables and various foods for those herd members who are incapable. They are the backbone; the heartbeat that gives a herd life. Elders: Elders are those that are no longer able to work due to age complications. They are often doted on by the lookouts. Fawns: Fawns are the youngest members of the herd who will learn from the lookouts how to function and perform in their future roles. It is their job to grow, to thrive alongside their nurturing mother. |
