General
II. When you first join SC we encourage you to create an OOC account to bind your characters to. All characters must be on their own account titled after their first name only! III. Accounts will be subjected to deletion if you fail to respond to activity checks or if you show prolonged bouts of inactivity (six months since your last ic post or login). The only exception's are people who have posted in the away board. IV. There are no posting limits or requirements. Post as much or as little as you desire, however, we still encourage you to give each post your all. As they say, quality over quantity. V. Avatars are 994x150px. VI. Tables, images and signatures should not stretch the board. If they do, you will receive a warning to fix the issue. Any repeated offence will result in you being banned from using tables, images or signatures on the site. IC & Characters
I. Godmoding/powerplaying/metagaming will not be tolerated at all unless permission was granted by your thread partner or you are trespassing on herd lands. II. You can have as many characters as you can reasonably handle. There is one condition, however. You must have 10 posts made on your most recently accepted character before you can create another. III. Private threads are privy to invasion by herd members (only if you are trespassing) or by natural events. IV. You may not begin posting icly until your character has been reviewed and accepted by a staff member. V. Cerulis may only be created during a meteor shower, shooting star event or by breeding. VI. You are limited to one immortal character. If that character happens to die or be stripped of their immortality, you may choose another to take their place. Immortality may only be granted once per character (ie. if you get stripped, you cannot become immortal again). VII. Here on SC, we are not overly strict with character appearances. We do not require that you buy each and every little mutation that your character has, however, we do have some limits. Orian are limited to four mutations; Cerulis mutations are unlimited. VIII. You are permitted two lone does. Bucks - on the other hand - have no limits. What constitutes as a loner is any character that travels by themselves outside of the rut. IX. Every 19 days our time equals one month on SC. Every 2 months our time equals one season on SC. Every 243 days (8 months) our time equals one year on SC. The lifespan on SC is 10-13 years old. Breeding
I. There is to be absolutely no graphic mating. Fade to black or don't do it at all. II. Unlike most sites, our breeding methods are a little more... unorthodox and quite fast paced. Rutting season typically begins late October and ends early December. During this time there are a total of three phases:
III. In order to apply for offspring, the mother and father must have at least 20 IC posts and one completed thread together with both having a minimum of three posts each in said thread. IV. Fawns are considered sexually mature at 2 years old with does no longer breedable after age 8. V. Fawns age at a normal rate so if you'd like to keep track of how old your fawn is, remember that two rl months is equivalent to three months on SC. VI. The maximum amount of fawns a female can have at one time is 3 with 2 being the most common. There are no restrictions on how many offspring you can have (ie. being a loner will not affect the outcome) though circumstances can determine how many will survive throughout the pregnancy. If there is a famine during the winter, you have a 40% chance of having a stillborn. If you are a loner, there is a 20% chance you will lose one of your offspring. If your doe participates in a fight or gets attacked by a wild animal, there is a 60% chance she will lose her offspring. All rolls, except for the latter, will be posted on your application thread. VII. Does are pregnant for 180 ic days (6 IC months) or 114 rl days (roughly 4 RL months). Her birth date will be posted in the breeding application thread. The mother has two weeks from the birth date to deliver her young or have it be considered a miscarriage. Fighting & Land Claiming
I. Due to the nature of SC, we expect that there will be quite a bit of violence between characters. Fights may occur for anything, really. Rights to breed, land, bucks, does, ect. Only inform a staff member when the winner of the fight has not been pre-determined between either participant. II. Types of fights:
III. When challenging or fighting, your opponent has 72 hours after your last response to reply before they lose by forfeit. IV. While we understand that some people have a harder competitive streak than others, please remember that above all else - this is a game. No matter the results of the fight, no one likes a poor sport or a sorry loser. V. Be realistic. If a buck jams his antlers into your character's throat, chances are your character will not be 100% the next ic day or for the remainder of the battle, either. Take into consideration any injuries your character gains during any fight and react/prepare accordingly. You will get scratched, maimed, harmed or even possibly face the risk of death. Such is the way of life. VI. Once a fight over land/leadership is complete, the winning land/lead cannot be challenged again for at least a month. VII. Herds may hold claim over one board at a time. They are capable of creating/discovering new regions within these boards (at a cap of 3) to claim as theirs as well, however, smaller herds may challenge an official herd to rights over those lands. |
